Gates are obstacles in Krampus that block the player's access to certain rooms in the house.
Description[]
Gates are basically rusty metal bars. That's about it.
Mechanics[]
Gates are found across the house acting as blockages for the player. They are mostly found blocking entrances to the basement or areas in the basement itself. When the player interacts with gates, they will say "I need to find a way to open these gates".
Switches that are found in two rooms can be pulled down to open and thus remove every gate blocking the rooms. There are two types of gates: the ones blocking the basement and one blocking the mine.
Locations[]
- One is found in the starting room blocking a shortcut to the basement.
- Another one is found blocking a room near the door to the basement.
- One is found blocking the mine.
- Another one is found blocking an area close to the underground cave keeping the skull.
Trivia[]
- There was only 3 gates in the old version of the game. Back then, the mine didn't exist.
- In the alpha version, the gates are marked with a text saying "not available in alpha version".
- By clipping through the door frame of a door in the dining room and turning the other way behind the bookshelf, when you pass the exit door, fall down into the basement and you will land in that room accessible through a shortcut. After passing through more corners, you can enter the underground cave while blocked off by gates. However, you will be trapped. This only works if you don't open the gates to the basement.
